Privacy Policy

Barbell PlateSense · Effective July 1, 2026

Barbell PlateSense is built to keep your training data yours. In plain terms: your workouts live on your device, we don't run ads, and we don't track you. This policy explains exactly what that means.

The short version
  • Your workout data is stored on your device.
  • Optional backup syncs through your own iCloud, we can't see it.
  • No account is required to use the app.
  • No ads, no third‑party analytics, no tracking across apps or websites.

1. Data stored on your device

Your workouts, saved routines, plate and bar inventory, gym profiles, personal records, and app settings are stored locally on your device. This information stays on your device unless you turn on iCloud backup (see §3). We do not transmit it to our own servers, and we don't operate any.

2. What we don't collect

Barbell PlateSense does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or contacts. The app contains no advertising SDKs, no cross‑app tracking, and no third‑party analytics. We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not use your data for advertising.

Under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, the app does not track you and does not access the advertising identifier.

3. Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync (a Pro feature), your app data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit private database and synced across your devices. This data is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and is not accessible to us. You can turn sync off at any time in Settings. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described at apple.com/legal/privacy.

4. Purchases & subscriptions

Purchases of PlateSense Pro are processed by Apple. To manage entitlements and restore purchases, we use RevenueCat as our in‑app purchase infrastructure. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user ID and purchase/receipt information needed to verify your subscription status. It does not receive your workout data, name, or email. See revenuecat.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.

5. Diagnostics

If you choose to share crash and performance diagnostics with developers through iOS Settings, Apple provides us aggregated, non‑identifying reports. You control this in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. The app does not collect diagnostics independently.

6. Children's privacy

Barbell PlateSense is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Your rights

Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud account, you remain in control of it. You can delete your data by deleting your workouts in the app, disabling iCloud sync, or removing the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app.
